⚽️ Blog Post #1 – From Kongsberg to California: My Butte College Football Journey
If you told me a few years ago that I’d be playing football in California, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. Growing up in Kongsberg, Norway, football was everything to me. I played for KIF Kongsberg, spent every weekend in muddy boots, and dreamed about seeing the world through the game. Now, at 19, I’m here — playing for Butte College, chasing that dream in a totally new place.
Everything feels different here — the heat, the tempo, even the grass. But the feeling before a match is the same no matter where you are. The sound of teammates laughing in the locker room and the music before kickoff.
Our first few matches this season have been a wild ride. We’ve faced Modesto, Santa Rosa, and Feather River, and each game has tested us in new ways. The level here is intense — physical, fast, and unpredictable. But I love it. Every game teaches me something new about football and about myself.
I started this blog because I want to share what it’s really like to play college football far from home — the good days, the long bus rides, the goals, and the struggles. You can follow the team schedule on BUTTE or CCCAA SOC
Next week, we’re away against Shasta College, and I’m already feeling that matchday buzz.
