🥅 Blog Post #2 – Matchday vs. Feather River: Fighting Back
Some matches you forget quickly — others stick with you. Our game against Feather River was one I won’t forget. We went into it after a tough loss to Marin, and everyone was hungry to prove something. The bus ride up was quiet — just headphones, water bottles, and focus. You could feel that we wanted this one.
Feather River came out strong and scored early. We looked a bit lost for the first 20 minutes, and honestly, I was frustrated. The sun was brutal, the turf was dry, and the ball bounced like crazy. But at halftime, our coach fired us up — he told us to stop playing safe and just trust the game.
In the second half, something clicked. I got a pass just outside the box, cut inside, and took a shot — it hit the post, but our striker cleaned it up. 1–1. The momentum changed instantly. We didn’t win in the end (it finished 2–2), but it felt like a win because we showed real fight.
After the match, we stopped at a diner on the way home — just burgers, jokes, and tired smiles. That’s the part people don’t see: the bond between players. These are the days I’ll remember long after the season ends.
