🏔️ Blog Post #3 – Matchday vs. Lake Tahoe: Football in the Mountains There’s something different about playing up in Lake Tahoe. The air feels thinner, the mountains surround the field, and everything just feels sharper — colder, but beautiful. We left Chico before sunrise, sleepy but focused, heading into what we all knew would be a tough game. Lake Tahoe Community College has a strong squad this year, and their home advantage is real. The first half was chaos. The wind up there makes the ball move in ways you can’t predict. We were chasing shadows at first, trying to adjust, but slowly we started to find rhythm. Around the 30th minute, I made a run down the right, got a pass from Marco, and crossed it in — our striker met it perfectly. 1–0 Butte. For a second, the whole team just exploded.   🥅 Blog Post #2 – Matchday vs. Feather River: Fighting Back Some matches you forget quickly — others stick with you. Our game against Feather River was one I won’t forget. Now, at 19, I’m here — playing for Butte College,  chasing that dream in a totally new place. Everything feels different here — the heat, the tempo, even the grass. But the feeling before a match is the same no matter where you are. The sound of teammates laughing in the locker room and the music before kickoff. Our first few matches this season have been a wild ride. We’ve faced Modesto , Santa Rosa , and Feather River , and each game has tested us in new ways. The level here is intense — physical, fast, and unpredictable. But I love it. Every game teaches me something new about football and about m...
